Robert (Bob) L. Dulaney III died peacefully on July 27, 2022 after a prolonged illness. His beloved brother Wayne was at his side. Bob was a true Marylander: graduating from Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda and receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland with dual majors in Math and Philosophy.
He was a dedicated NOAA civil servant working as a Geodesist where he was responsible for modeling the orbital characteristics of GPS satellites to centimeter-level accuracies.
Throughout his life, Bobby was an avid chess player and global traveler as well as a talented Irish dancer performing in St. Patrick’s Day parades and a one-time opportunity at the Kennedy Center.
Bobby was a beloved son and brother, leaving his devoted brother Wayne and seven dear first cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Dulaney, Jr. and Elaine Rauth Dulaney.
A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201.
