Fortified by the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Colonel Samuel Michael Taub, USMC (Ret)and Deacon of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington, died peacefully at home on November 17, 2014. Born July 16, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Phyllis, and his older brother, Clayton. Survived by his younger sister, Jenny, 4 children Michael, Thomas (Beth), Mary Kyle (Bill) and Anne Marie, eight grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and many extended family members. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2014 at The Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral on Saturday, November 22, at 2 PM. Graveside services and internment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund, The St. Thomas More Capital Campaign or to Wounded Warriors Project.
