In a world that can sometimes feel heartless, Scott was the exception—a man with a heart of gold. Over the past decade, he devoted himself to caring for his mother, Diana, a role he embraced with love and quiet strength. To his family and friends, Scott was a force of nature—larger than life, fiercely loyal, endlessly supportive, and genuinely irreplaceable. Whether as a son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, dance partner, or confidant, he brought joy and unwavering presence to every relationship.
Scott’s laughter was infectious, his humor quick, and his spirit both silly and deeply wise. He loved life. And more importantly, he loved people—with kindness, selflessness, and authenticity. We should all strive to be a little more like Scott.
Born on June 28, 1963, to George and Dianna Hollingsworth, Scott was their second son. He grew up in Arlington, Virginia, alongside his brothers Jimmy and Ricky, and was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School and later earned his degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
During his school years and early adulthood, Scott formed lifelong friendships that became more like family. These deep connections followed him through his many years living in Los Angeles, California, where his warmth, kindness, and zany personality were the threads that kept his wide circle of friends close—no matter the years or miles. After a long and successful career at Sony, Scott returned to Arlington, drawn home by the same heartstrings that always grounded him in family and love.
Scott is survived by his mother, Dianna; his brother, Ricky; sister-in-law, Tania; nephew, Charlie; niece, Cara; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, George; his older brother, Jimmy; and many other beloved family members.
Scott’s life was a beautiful reminder that kindness matters, loyalty lasts, and laughter heals. His absence is deeply felt, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
