Shirley Ann Lloyd Merchant

Shirley Ann Merchant, 78, of Falls Church, Virginia peacefully passed away in her home Friday morning, April 26, 2013. Shirley loved her family and had a genuine zest for life, free-flowing laughter, and a warm-hearted spirit that brought happiness to everyone around her. She spent her time helping others as a mother, daughter, sister, Grandma Lady, friend, and valued church member. The doors to her house and to her heart were always open.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Virginia Robinson Lloyd. She is survived by her brother Ronald Lloyd(Jean) of Ocean City, MD.; her brother-in-law John Merchant(Jenny) of Fairfax; her four children, Harry Merchant (Stephanie) of Woodbridge, VA; Robert Merchant(Sandy) of Fairfax; Brenda Merchant Lauder(Dennis), of Sterling, VA; Dea Merchant, of Fairfax, VA; and her five grandchildren, Kimmie, Tori, Morgan, Hayley, and Shelby.

A celebration of her life and incredible spirit will be held Monday, April 29, 2013, 4-8pm at Arlington Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA. Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, April 30 at Sleepy Hollow UMC, 3435 Sleepy Hollow Road, Falls Church, VA at 11am. Interment to follow in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, VA.
