Shirley was born in Salem West Virginia on November 27,1935. She shared this home with her two siblings Karen Kaminsky and Richard Marks . Shirley married Walter O'Neal and they had two beautiful children, Jennifer Bryan and Dwight O'Neal. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
In 1974 the love of her life, Walter O'Neal died of a sudden heart attack. This great loss did not stop this remarkable, strong, women. She worked on Capitol Hill for 30 years, retired and then made her mark on the Real Estate world with Century 21. Shirley was a hard worker and loved people which is a perfect combination for success in Real Estate.
In 2006 she retired for a second time and moved down to Georgia to be near her children and her grandchildren. Her job as a grandmother was probably her most successful job. She adored all 5 of them and spoiled them rotten!
In the end Alzheimer's stole the mind our beautiful Shirley. During this time of a lot of mixed feelings, God still stayed strong. Every now and then he would open a window to her mind and she would recognize us with a smile or laughter or even our names. It was those days we treasured the most.
On September 22, 2011 this world lost a remarkable woman, mom, sister, grandmother and friend. But on that day she entered the gates of Heaven. God broke those chains of Alzheimer's and set her free to dance in the arms of her Savior and with her beloved Walt cutting in.
Contributions may be made in her memory, in lieu of flowers, to Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington Street, Suite 300, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481. www.curealz.org.
