

Mrs. Blincoe was born Viola Mae Hubbarth on June 22, 1923 in New Baltimore, Michigan. She grew up in New Baltimore on the shore of Lake St. Clair. She received a nursing degree in September 1944 from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Mount Clemens, Michigan and then enlisted as an army nurse and served in the European theatres through the end of the Second World War. While serving in Italy she met Julian L. Blincoe, an American army officer. She and Julian were married in 1946 and settled down on a small farm in Arlington where they raised 4 children. Mrs. Blincoe had a lifelong passion for gardening, which she indulged whenever her career as a mother and homemaker allowed. Three of her 4 children were married in her beautifully landscaped gardens.
Survivors include her son Lawrence Joseph Blincoe and his wife Susan Jung, her three daughters Donna Michele Blincoe, Judith Lee Blincoe and her husband Ricky Montgomery, and Christine Elaine Blincoe and her husband Tim Torma. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Christopher Aleksandr Montgomery, Hannah May Torma, and Julian Ethon Torma.
Funeral Services will be held at St Agnes Catholic Church, 1910 N Randolph St, Arlington, VA 22207, on Friday, February 15th, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery with family and friends assembling at the Memorial Drive Gate at 12:30.
