Fred and I grew up together in Forest Hills and the memories---his lead soldiers, the Indian feathered headdress, his "butter and egg"  supplier father offering money ti play chess against us kids and walking tithe Aquacade to swim at the "Old World's Fair" in Flushing Meadows.  We lived life in those days. Now, mine is "winding down but I can still see  "FREDDY"--FREDERIC WILLIAM Mc kINLEY THOMPSON AND A GREAT YOUNG BUDDY. I last saw him in the 1990 time when he visited me in DC when  I was before  the House Armed Services Committee as a whistleblower on fraud and r=treason by Northrup . We were already "old men" by that tine,

Freddy and I were buddies, grew up together in Forest Hills. Many great memories. His dad was a butter and egg man and his mother was a beautiful lady. i ALWAYS ENVIED HIS Indian CHIEF'S WAR BONNET AND PAINTED LEAD SOLDIERS. I last saw him in the the 1990's when I testified in DC at the Jouse Services Armed Services Committee.  I recall how he was so hard headed that he had to beat a big friend, John Fortnan, in a water drinking contest. He almost drowned.  I'm 81 and live on Maui in Hawaii and thinkof the great youth and times we had in NY. I don't expect to live too many years more but recall so many great things from our youth. I still miss those wonderful Sunday flights to wherever with you.  Especially the breakfasts at Frederick Airport where we tried to solve all the problems of the world .


I just today learned about Dr. Thompson's passing last year. I am shocked and so saddened.  Working with him was a pivotal part of my young life and it is not an exaggeration to say that he saved it.  I still carry him and all he taught me in my heart. My deepest condolences to his children and grandchildren on the anniversary of his loss.

Just today I learned of Dr. T's passing, from someone who did not know that I didn't know.  He saved my life, and through a quarter-centuryof his unfailingly insightful care, we worked together to change my life for better, healthier, stronger.  May his memory endure as a blessing.

My deepest sympathy on the lost of your Father and Grandfather.  I met Bill about a year ago in one of our Widow and Widower's dinners.  Bill played the piano and guitar for us and graciously led our chorus.  Several of us were quite decent singers and a few of us couldn't carry a tune but Bill patiently encouraged us.  He was a fine and very kind gentleman and will be missed by all of us.

My sympathy to the family. He was our chorus leader of Widowed Persons Service of NV and added much joy to some of our gatherings. He will be missed.

Like Paul Rinderle, I am another of Bill's senior softball teammates and friends.  Bill was a fine player and a good person who comforted his teammates when we were down and helped win games that were close.  I am very disappointed that we shall not get to see Bill and his musical band perform at Potomac Overlook this summer  or go up for a ride in his plane. Bill is irreplaceable.

Bill was known as Doctor Bill in the Northern Virginia Softball League where he played close to twenty years. He was the first at the scene of an on field injury. He was a designated runner for those not as gifted with his running skills. He could play all positions adding to a managers flexibility. He would line drive the ball down either side of the field. Most of all we'll miss Bill because he was Bill, a delight to be with, for all of us. God Bless and keep you Bill to all eternity.
