Albert George Bowles, 70, of Marysville, WA, passed away May 21, 2011 in Skykomish, WA. Albert graduated from Arlington High School in 1958 and went on to a 22 year military career first in the U.S. Air Force and retiring from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class in 1981. After this he worked for what became BF Goodrich as an Aircraft Mechanic, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Albert was a Boy Scout leader in Marysville and a volunteer firefighter for Bryant/Marysville. He enjoyed delighting children every Christmas as Santa. Albert was raised to Master Mason in Fidelatas Lodge #820, Karlsruhe, West Germany in July of 1970. He was a life member of the Arlington Lodge #129, Skykomish Lodge #259 and Crystal Lodge #122 of Free and Accepted Masons, royal Arch Masons, Scottish Rite, National Sojourners and Heroes of ’76. He received these awards: Daniel A. Beard Youth Leadership from Boy Scouts, Military Recognition Committee from Grand Lodge of Washington Free and Accepted Masons, Lewis Award: father and son both in Arlington Lodge #129, Order of Eastern Star in January 1974. He also was past patron of Fidelity #78 and Afton #103. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Sally Bowles; sister, Dorothy (Milo) Hardenbrook; sons, George (Karen), Alan and Steven, daughter Emalee; step-children, Tom (Traci), Steven, Doug (Jennifer), Rich (Georgina), Mike (Donna); 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA. A graveside service will follow with military honors at Arlington Municipal Cemetery, 20310 67th Ave. NE, Arlington. Reception to follow at Pioneer Hall, 20722 67th Ave. NE, Arlington.
