Alice Grace (Potts) McFalls, 85, passed away August 3, 2014 in Everett, WA. She was born to Walter and Sarah Potts September 8, 1928 in Sylva, NC. She had seven siblings. Alice graduated from Sylva High School in 1947, the same year she married Neil Bishop. They had two children when Neal died in 1949. Alice moved from Sylva to Darrington, WA with her two children in 1951. She married Fred McFalls in 1952, and raised a large family of her own. She became involved in various community activities from the Darrington Timber Bowl to the Seattle World’s Fair to the TarHeel Picnic. She is famous for her southern gravy and biscuits that she would serve any time someone stopped by to pick bluegrass or just to say hello. No matter what the reason, you were welcome in her home. Family and friends played a very important role in Alice’s life. Anyone that knew her had only good things to say. Preceding her in death were her two husbands; children, Jo Ann Bishop, Roger Bishop; siblings, Annie, Maggie, Velma, Ila, Eddis and John David. Surviving Alice are her children, Janie (Rick) McFalls-Bertalan of Norton Shores, MI, Connie McFalls of Kalispell, MT, Jim McFalls of Camano, Island, WA, Deborah (Kirk) McFalls-Andersen of Longview, WA, Martin (Janelle) McFalls of Marysville, WA, sister Esther Seago of Longview, WA, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Alice is now making her gravy and biscuits in God’s home and once again surrounded by family and friends and full of happiness and joy. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her. A viewing will take place Friday, August 15, 2014, 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA 98223. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 1272 State Route 530 NE, Darrington, WA 98241 with a graveside to follow at the Darrington Cemetery.
