Born in Marlin, Texas, Amelia made a life with her husband Meliton† and their 11 children. As a family, they worked the fields picking seasonal fruit or vegetables all along the Western and Southern United States eventually settling in Salem, Oregon. In her retirement years, she made Arlington, Washington her home. Amelia enjoyed gardening, music, dancing, traveling to visit her children, having a good beer, and, of course, going to the casino! Her funny stories and infectious laugh will be missed. She is survived by her 4 daughters, Petra (Jessie) Granado, Esperanza (Eloy Perez) Serna, Delia (Sergio) Saldana, Elisa (Joe) Maxfield; 4 sons, Meliton (Judy) Villanueva, Freddy Villanueva, Marcos (Hilda) Villanueva, and Robert (Ann) Villanueva. Amelia was preceded in death by husband Meliton Villanueva, daughters Rosa Villanueva and Graciela Camacho, and son, Jose (Delia) Villanueva. Amelia and Meliton’s legacy lives on with 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
