Those were some of her favorite words to hear…And now it’s her turn to fly….
Ann Verla Lauch Murphy July 10th, 1938-June 28th, 2013
Ann was born to Arthur and Verla Lauch in Seattle, WA. She spent her childhood in Woodinville, WA, before moving to Spokane and eventually Billings, MT during her high school years. There she met Albert Neil Murphy and they were married June 8th, 1957. They were married 55 years when he passed away this past January.
Ann and Neil had three sons, and six grandchildren. KEITH, married to Julie with grandson Michael. MIKE, married to Tawnee with grandchildren Sammi and Tommy. KEN with grandchildren Kristine and Ben. And sudo grandchildren Seth.
In her younger years she was a waitress and with Neil had a restaurant on Blewett Pass that the boys had many fond memories of. In 1970 they moved to Bothell, WA where the boys finished school. In 1976 Ann started working with her brother Bob at RA Trucking. In 1980 they worked together running his new company RALCO. In 1990 she started her own company Circle Freight, which she ran up until around 1998. Ann’s first and greatest love was her family. Her boys came first always. Their swim meets and events were great memories for her. Sunday family dinners were a Murphy tradition her and Neil relished. As grandkids came along it made them that much better.
Ann was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading. She and Neil had many fun experiences with their Dodge and Hudson on road trips with friends and family. There was always a car show to go to with adventures along the way. The last few years, after they moved to Arlington, WA, she could be found at Angel of the Winds, or “The Club” as she liked to call it. She made many friends there at her home away from home.
Of all the things she enjoyed, the Seattle Mariners and Dave Niehaus were her favorite. She was an avid fan from their conception and never wavered on her support of that team. She was sure that she was the biggest fan. She followed them tirelessly to her end. Now she is sitting between her two of her favorite men, Neil and Dave, cheering them on. Her view is much better now…
Preceding her in death also was her brother Dick Lauch. Ann is survived by her brother Robert Lauch, her sister Rowena Bethards, and many other family and friends who will miss her kind, gentle, and giving ways.
