We had the privilege of knowing Kay for a short time. Although we did not get to have a life time of memories with Kay, we know how wonderful she is and was. Her sons were so loving and attended to her with such care, it was apparent that she was a very special woman. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

Although I only knew you for a brief time,I learnt in our time together what a caring,energetic,stylish,fun lady you were.We talked constantly about your "boys" grandchildren,and great grandaughter Cassidy,and how proud you were of all of them.You had many friends who you loved and cared about,and I know that was reciprocated.One day I asked you about your life and you replied, for you it was about family,helping other people,dancing and fun.Another day you asked me what I liked to do, and I told you amongst other things I liked camping and dancing.As it so happened my husband and I were going camping that weekend and she asked me where were we going,I replied Deception State Park, she thought I said State Prison, then you asked where did I meet my husband I told her in Britain, she thought I said prison, once Kay understood what I had said, we had a lot of laughs about it.Then when I told her I was going dancing that day, she shot up from the dining room table and danced across the living room with a broad smile across her face, she had amazing energy for a lady her age.Kay would tell me how much she appreciated all that her sons had done for her, and talked about them all the time.May you have love and peace in your hearts at this time, knowing you were much loved by mom,grandmother, and great grand mother.Anne and Jack Herring

My earliest memories of Aunt Kay are of her cooking breakfast for the "boys" and me at her house. I was privileged to stay with my cousins on occasion growing up for overnighters and remember the warm hospitality I was given. Aunt Kaye truly was as wonderful as the other folks have stated in this guest book and I will always remember her beauty, class and dignity. God bless all the family.

An elegant, dignified lady and loving mom, all at once. She became my second mom. Unofficially 'adopted' me as one of her own. For which I felt then and now and always will feel lucky she felt well of me. Always so cheerful and giving of herself, always doing something for others. When I think back now on the entirety of the time I knew her on a daily basis over many years, every minute that I remember of her, what specifically she was doing in those moments, it is always of her actively doing something for others, her family, in that moment. I can't really ever remember her just being by herself / doing something just for herself. My memory is of her always moving, always active, always doing for others. For her family.
I loved her voice, I love the way she said my name. I can at any time hear her voice saying my name with this wonderful, cute, slightly drawn out, slowed down, wonderfully warm and what sounded charmingly to me a sort of New England or Bostonian "Pawl', is the best approximation I can type of it, that I just loved the sound of, loved hearing her say it. 
I loved her. Her essence, her being, just 'came across' easily, effortlessly, caring, concerned, genuine. I can at any moment see her smiling and saying to me in that gentle, elegant voice, that she had four boys ...and I was her fifth son. And that meant so very much to me. She was such an important person in my life. I just hope she had some knowledge of how much she meant to me, and of my lifelong regard for her, even though for many years I did not see her, in person, to tell her and remind her of it.
It goes without saying how much she will be missed. It is such a loss. Of such a wonderful loving person, for so many, and especially her family. And I feel truly grateful, fortunate, proud, blessed ..to have been considered by her to have been, one of her 'brood'.

You will be sorely missed by all who knew you. I will always remember the tea cup you bought me at the Christmas Bazar when I was visting Laurie and Jim over the Holidays. You were so excited to give it, as I was to recieve it. Your generous spirt will resonate with me and all who loved you. Jimmy, Sissy, Dan & Jen, Mat, Mikey & Elisa I am very sorry for your loss. I will be with all of you in spirt this Friday. Jimmy you are a wonderful son to love and care for your Mom the way that you did. I hope you all find peace now in this sad time in your lives.

It was our pleasure and privilege to be able to know and share time with Kaylie!  She was always so sweet, friendly & kind...a beautiful lady.  Kaylie was loved & cared about by many residents and staff here and she will be missed.  Our wonderful memories with her will last many more lifetimes and she will always be thought of with much joy!  We wish all of her family & friends the same peace, joy & love in their special memories with her.

Aunt Kay ... Although I've only been around you a few times in my life, my parents' reverence for your dignity and grace, on how you lived your life and raised your children, was instilled in my heart in a way that I have never forgotten.

Though we rarely if ever were together since the 1960's, your sons have never been forgotten and always included as part of my family tree.  I can only remember meeting Bill and Ric once since then.  I still have Bill's Pope family genealogical research on my pc. 

Now that you are with my parents, Barney and Mamie McNutt, Uncle Doyle and all of the other saints that have gone on before, keep an eye out for the rest of us that remain behind until we meet again.

Aunt Kaye....the Grand Dame of the Family. I loved you immediately, knowing you had married my Uncle Doyle...as you brought me 3-new, overnight cousins....then, a 4th.  I always wanted to be just like you--family-centered, gracious, fun & funny, the best cook, stylish and 'best friend'.  You taught me, like a Mother, so many lasting lessons:  how to dress; how to be polite to everyone; how to golf; how to cook, shop & move furniture--even how not to lose your cool when an over-martini'd husband removed your best wig in a restaurant....in disbelief!  You taught me to pause, have a small glass of wine and everything will be far less upsetting in an hour.  Aunt Kaye may well have passed from an enlarged heart--so full of love, memories and feelings for her Family, Friends & Extended Neighbors--she knew no strangers.  The way she went on about her boys, their wives, kids and grand-kids....I thought, "I wish I could meet them all".....only to realize I had--she treasured each one.  God only gives us one (1) Mom, but I feel so blessed to have had two.  Imagine the homecoming celebration she's receiving as she joined the rest of her Family in Heaven.....and prepares for all the rest of us.
We could not have loved you more, Aunt Kaye......unless you'd have stayed for another meal, a round of golf, a shopping trip....or another conversation about your Family.  You have left a hole in our hearts that only YOU could fill.  We will always cherish you and all you gave to each one of us.....into Eternity.  You caused us to love EACH member of your Family, without exception.

Dear Mom, you will be forever in my heart ! I miss you so much right now ! All those wonderful memories I have will always be with me, starting from Delano playing in the backyard and anticipating "Hamburgers in a Basket" to Sacramento at your apartment by the pool. I can almost smell the spaghetti while standing next to you on "Sweet Drive" watching you stir the sauce and talking to you about school and how my day went. The independence, strength, and faith you had was beyond any I had known, and will always be. Although I never met you, Kay, I know that your son Jim loved and cared for you immensely, and cherished the time that he spent with you more than anything. You have instilled great integrities within your family. May your joyful spirit live on in peace.

Mom: We know you are at peace now, and are with all your loved ones that preceded you. You had an unqualified love for all. And, through the most difficult of times, you stood by all your loved ones. Your faith in God permeated your life, and you were able to share your faith, and love with everyone. You shared your love with the severely handicapped children you taught, and with all those in your extended family. When our father, Fred Pope, died, you kept us together with love, and moved us north to be with the rest of our family, the Bergstroms' and the Masons'. Then, you gave us another Dad, Doyle, who was the most loving father we could have ever hoped for, and the bravest man ever! Together with all of his wonderful family, Dad, and all of the McNutts treated us with love and as their family.  Mom, we miss you! But we know that you are with the Lord, and with Bob, your sisters and Gamma, our Dads, the McNutts, and the rest of our family now.
May God Grace you, Love you, and Comfort and Embrace you forever.

I am forever grateful for being able to communicate through E-Mail with my Auntie Kaye. We kept in touch constantly and it brought us closer as two adults sharing life. We cherish the time that we were able to spend with Grandma... especially over the last few years in Bellingham where we could see her for holidays. It's still very strange to think that we can't visit her the next time we are back. However, I know she is now in a better place now without fear or confusion.

I love you and I miss you…
You were a lifelong inspiration to our family. You gave us the courage to succeed. You were my conscience and guide that gave me the strength to make the correct decisions when temptation appeared. 
At four years old, I remember sprinting down the hall at our home in Delano in the middle of the night and into your arms after dreaming I was being chased by kidnappers. They were going to take and throw me off the clouds. Funny how I always ended up in my own bed in the morning. I remember the late Christmas Eves listening to you and Dad busy in the living room putting together all the gifts then blaming Santa for the surprises in the morning. I remember the basket burgers on Saturday night and the chocolate and biscuits Sunday mornings, not because you wanted for yourself but because it was important to your family. I remember the table always set with extra baskets if we had a friend over because that was important to us. You did all that you do to support and build your family and your four sons. You made it your highest priority to make our family a family and I thank you for setting the example. I have lived by that all my life. My family, like yours has been the most important part of my life and you instilled that in me. 
Most of all Mom, you gave me the confidence that I could succeed no matter what. I was willing to take the risk because I knew that you would always be there if I needed you.
