Dan was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He had a gift for storytelling and loved sharing memories from the past with anyone who would listen. His journey through life was marked by love, friendship, and kindness. Whether it was through coaching soccer, helping Christmas tree customers, or simply being present with family and friends. Dan left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Susan Hoffman; his son, Daniel Hoffman, and daughter-in-law, Alicia Hoffman; and his three beloved grandchildren Brevyn, Koven, and Georgia, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his father, Bob Hoffman, Mother-in-law, Evelyn Hoffman; brother David Hoffman and sister-in-law Marian Hoffman; sister Kathy Savage and brother-in-law David Savage; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
During his high school years, Dan excelled in both wrestling and football, serving as captain of his team and competing at the state level. His lifelong love of sports later carried into coaching, where he dedicated 12 years to his son’s soccer team, proudly taking them to the state tournament twice.
Family was the center of Dan’s world. His greatest joy was raising his son and later becoming “Papa” to his three grandchildren. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, cheering them on, and making them laugh with his infectious smile and booming laughter.
Dan also found joy in his work and community. He cherished his nursery and relationships he built with his tree customers, especially during the holiday season when he could help families pick out the perfect Christmas tree to take home. In his later years, he developed a passion for researching ancient rock drawings and delighted in zipping around his farm on his zero-turn mower, treating it like is personal go-kart.
Dan loved the life he built and the place he called home. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit, humor, hard work, and love will forever remain with those he leaves behind.
He will be missed beyond words.
