She was born in Seattle to Marion A. and Ella M. Worthen in 1932. She joined an older sister Lorene.
She was on the nursery roll at Fremont Baptist Church where she found faith, becoming a member as an adult. Donna graduated from Lincoln High School then completed bookkeeping at Edison Technical School prior to marriage and starting her family.
Family was her passion. Being raised as the only child in the home for years her dream was to have a large family. She was kept busy for decades providing transportation and supporting the activities of her 5 children involved in sports, church, Brownies, fund raisers for each activity. She served as a Cub Scout Den mother, assisted kids learn memory parts for Rainbow, Jr Grange, Boy Scouts and of course homework. In addition, she welcomed our friends, inviting them to eat, to become family.
A total city girl, in 1963 the family moved to the Bryant area where her courage was tested but great friendships formed. Transporting kids became more time consuming. Her children thrived so she did too.
Donna played the piano beautifully for family when she could find time. She was a gifted seamstress making her children’s clothes, men’s shirts and even formal gowns. As her children became older, she eventually worked as a bookkeeper at Arlington Plug Mill, and later at Miller Shingle of Granite Falls.
In 1982 she married Al Etue and moved to Ohio. There she worked at AccuRay. But the siren call of the NW and new grandchildren pulled them back to the area. Donna & Al continued to be involved family, even babysitting grandchildren.
A lifelong love of trailer camping evolved into motorhome trips & attending Discovery (RV) Rally’s since 2010. Donna loved seeing more of the U.S. and of course visiting grands and great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and sister, her son David L. Magnuson and grandson Timothy C. Magnuson
