She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1932.
On January 25, 1941, Ella and Elvis Harland "Mac" McClure were married in Iola, Kansas.
Ella and Mac often cared for children, sometimes relatives and sometimes foster children. When they moved to Darrington, Washington, Ella continued this pattern by sitting with children in the area.
Years ago Mac and Ella operated Burt Grocery Store north of Yates Center, Kansas. They spent some time on an Arizona Indian Reservation as missionaries helping however they could. Always thinking of others, Ella followed this philosophy all her life.
Ella found a church home wherever she moved. In Darrington she faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church. Her love of children continued as she taught Sunday School classes for many years. She was the janitress for the church, cleaning and organizing as needed. Ella was always there to help when needed.
Her husband, Mac, preceded her in death on May 25, 1987, following more than 46 years of marriage.
Ella's death came on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at her home in Darrington, at the age of 102.
She leaves a brother, Mervin Terrell of Kentland, Indiana and over 300 nieces and nephews.
