

Floyd James Welborn, 86, of Arlington, WA passed away of a heart attack on September 4, 2015. Floyd was born on June 4, 1929 in Lake Stevens, WA to Floyd and Elsie Welborn. He attended Lake Stevens High School and went on to become a Correctional Officer for the Monroe Correctional Facility where he was officer of the year in 1988. He worked there for 27 years before retiring in 1990. In his free time, Floyd was a charter member of the community club (Sisco Heights), a volunteer fire fighter for district 22 (Getchell), and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and dancing. He was married on January 13, 1951 to Janet (Osborn) Welborn and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. Floyd is preceded in death by his son Raymond Welborn. He is survived by his sons Terry Welborn of E. Wenatchee, WA, Duane Welborn of Arlington, WA, Randy Welborn of E. Wenatchee, WA; brothers Dick Welborn of Yuma, AZ, and Ron Welborn of Monroe, WA; sister Marion Day of Lake Stevens, WA; as well as 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members. A visitation will be held at Weller Funeral home on September 11, 2015 from 10am-12pm with a celebration of life following at 1pm.
