

John “Patrick” Skalla, 87, of Arlington passed away peacefully at home Wednesday September 28th after a lengthy illness, with his loving wife of 33 years at his side. Patrick was born to John Joseph and Mary Theresa (Cassidy) Skalla in Petersville, IA on 3/15/24, and grew up in Davenport, IA. Patrick retired from Snohomish County Amusement 15 years ago, and hobbies and affiliations include bowling, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW and Normanna Lodge. He is survived by his wife Carole, sisters Nancy Skalla (Davenport IA) and Mary Downen (Mike) (Rock Island IL), nieces Kathleen Fleming and Sue Borowczyk, nephews Matt and Scott Downen, Terry Skalla, step children Dale Hamilton and Cynthia Froembling, grandchildren Chris and Alex Hamilton and Alicia Youren. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. The memorial mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday October 7th at the Immaculate Conception church, 1200 E 5th St. Arlington, with a wake to follow at Arlington’s Legion hall 115 N. Olympic Ave at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Evergreen Hospice Services, 12822 124th Lane NE, Kirkland, WA 98034.
