Terry Doyle Smith

Born Feb 08, 1951 in Abilene TX to Doyle Franklin Smith & Betty Terry.

Lived his early years in Seattle & attended Nathan Hale High School. Upon graduation he entered into his army unit with enthusiasm & served in Vietnam in 1970 with the 9th Infantry, followed by the 1st Cavalry. While still in the military, in 1972 he married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Baltzo in Augsburg, Germany on his 21st birthday. He earned his degree in drafting at North Seattle Community College and worked on the Snohomish County bridge crew, then on road maintenance operating all kinds of heavy equipment through snow & floods until he retired in 2006. Meanwhile as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, among other positions Terry served as a scoutmaster for troop 212, followed by Round Table Chairman in the 1980s. During the years his 4 children were attending school in Arlington, he coached Youth Football starting with the Boys & Girls Club all the way to the late 1990's. Three sons were youth football players, Hagen D. who then served an LDS mission in PA & KY currently of Las Vegas NV, Wyatt D.(m Chelsea Morris) who went to Iraq as a firefighter now of Phoenix AZ & Collin N.(m Nichole Murray) of Arlington who served in Iraq with the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Wainwright AK. Terry's daughter Eliza M. (m Camaron Grantham) of Arlington is pursuing college through the Pathway Program. His sister Patricia Ann Smith (m. Lee Nieman) lives in Naches, WA. Terry's affiliation with Combat Veterans International Chapter 6 gave him great opportunities for service locally & he had a passion for road trips with his Harley & fellow vets. He has 4 delightful, wonderful grandchildren & his GSDs Saphira & the new puppy AJacks to carry on.

We will celebrate his life on Sat Mar 24th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on the corner of Arlington Heights Rd & Hwy 530 at 2pm.
