Vera went to be with her Lord on September 29, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Darrington, WA, to Charles and Retha Booker. She graduated from Darrington High School in 1963, then went to work at Safeway in Arlington, WA for many years. She then went on to beauty college, retiring after many years as a hair dresser. Vera had 4 children: Darren Evans of Stanwood, WA; Warren (Denise) Evans of Arlington, WA; Julia (Dave) Kjolso of Idaho; and Ryan (Jody Blag Holley) Evans of Marysville, WA.
Vera enjoyed spending time with her 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, along with adopting two of her great-grandchildren; Ava Evans and Grayson Evans. Her final love and care was given by her Granddaughter Kendall Evans and daughter Julia Kjolso, along with her oldest son Darren Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Delano, Juny and Pat, and her husband Lyle of 45 years. She leaves behind a brother; Jerry (Donna) Booker, of Montana, sister; Nellie (Booker) Coggins of Eastern Washington, a Sister in law; Kathy Booker of Darrington, a brother in law; Larry (Bridget) Evans of Darrington, and multiple nieces and nephews.
We will be hosting a Celebration of Life at the Community Center in Darrington, WA on October 25th, 2025 from 12pm-4pm.
