Clyde “Joel” Horner, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 in St. Louis, MO at the age of 83. Joel leaves behind his dear son Randy (Patti) Horner; three cherished grandchildren Michael Horner, Ashley Davis, and Bradley (Rachel) Horner; seven great-grandchildren: Abbey Horner, Claire Horner, Kyle Horner, Isaac Horner, Crue Davis, Luna Davis, and Jayce Horner; brother Alan (Brenda) Horner; many brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many much-loved friends.
Joel is predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Hazel Horner; his youngest son, Carl Dean Horner; and his beloved wife, Cecil Faye (McLeary) Horner, who passed just one month prior.
Born on August 1, 1941 in Avondale, CO. Joel was an active member of Canaan Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends, square dancing, and classic western movies. He and Cecil were married on April 16, 1960, and shared 64 wonderful & loving years of marriage. Their commitment to the Lord and each other served as a foundation for our family that we will always treasure. They loved spending time with their family and traveling the country together. Our family was deeply saddened to lose these two beautiful souls, but know that they are together during the greatest journey there is.
A visitation for Clyde will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010. Funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, February 8, 2025, 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery 1925 Old Hwy M, Barnhart, MO 63012.
