I have known Dennis for many years as he sold Morco castables to Vesuvius.  He always made time to stop in and visit with me even when he was in Champaign to work with other colleagues.  Dennis was just here in Champaign for our engineering team's biscuits and gravy brunch as part of our fundraising for the local food bank each year.  Dennis was a generous supporter of our office fundraiser and made the trip for biscuits and gravy.  This photo was taken on November 2nd during our brunch.  Dennis spent time visiting with everyone at brunch and another 30 minutes at my desk just catching up.  Great guy and I will miss him both professionally and as a friend.  Our Vesuvius family sends our sympathy and prayers for his family.

Denny and I were neighbors from birth through high school. While we weren’t all that close during puberty we were inseparable from the time we could walk. We played for hours and were more like brothers than friends. Denny and Tom Diehl were my besties (and neighbors) on the corner of New Sugar Creek and Coil Road. We played legos,baseball and board games for hours. Even pretended to be the pop rock band the Beatles for awhile. He was a great guy and will be greatly missed by his many friends. 

Dennis was the first love of my life when we were in junior high and 9th grade.  He was my cousin, Ron Morgan's' best friend.  I lived in the city and he would come to stay with my family on the weekends with my cousin Ron and I would go to Ron's house and he'd come there.  I still have a photo album we made planning what our children's names were going to be.  He was the sweetest young man and I am sure a great husband and father.  One of the funny things I remember is my Grandma was making mashed potatoes.  She had them cut up and put on the stove to boil.  He couldn't understand why.....he had only made instant potatoes before.  I will keep you all in my prayers and am so sorry for your loss.

 Dennis was my best friend growing up. We met in fourth grade and got into a lot of trouble together.  In the fifth grade we were going to start a band and be like Gary Lewis and the playboys. He would carry his guitar and amp from his home at new Sugarcreek to my house on old Sugar Creek. Neither one of us was very good but it is a fond memory.  I had the chance to speak with Denny last year and we spent an hour on the phone laughing and talking about our good times. He will always be my friend and I will miss knowing he is no longer with us. I love your buddy, Rest in peace and give your mom and dad a hug for me when you see them. 

Dennis started as a salesman to my company, then became a friend.  He was always a kind soul-- I always looked forward to spending time with him.  His passing is a shocking reminder of our imminent mortality.  My deepest condolences to his family.  I will always have fond memories of him and will pray for his soul.  Dennis will be sorely missed.
