Ernest Q. Schafer, Jr. of West Plains, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Christina S. Schafer (nee Pennock). Loving father of Alicia Schafer and Duane Schafer. Dearest grandfather of Jacob Montgomery, Emily Berra, Taylor Schafer and Randi Schafer and great grandfather of Elijah Winkler. Dear brother of Ed (Debbie) Schafer. Dear son of the late Ernest Q. Schafer, Sr. and Maxine J. Schafer (nee Jackson). Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and dear friend to many.

He was a Vietnam Veteran having served on the USS America and the USS Intrepid and a member of West Plains Elks Lodge 2418 and Life Member of Becker-Meyer-Becker VFW Post 2593.

Visitation to be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Missouri on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. then moved to Wilson Funeral Home, 1000, West Scenic Rivers Blvd., Salem, Missouri for visitation on Thursday, May 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with funeral service on Friday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Jadwin Cemetery, Jadwin, Missouri. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project. Condolences may be offered at www.heiligtagfuneralhome.com.
