James Lloyd Hicks, age 86, of Barnhart, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of 68 years to the late Peggy Hicks (nee Thomas). Beloved father of Mark (Faith) Hicks, Brad (Rebecca) Hicks, Jamie (Rory) Abernathy, Jim (Laura) Hicks and the late Judy Gail Pillow. He was the adoring grandfather of 12 grandchildren and great grandfather of 8.

He was a Korean War veteran and a retired truck driver. He was well versed in the Bible, usually reading at least four chapters each day. He published numerous messages on FaceofGraceMinistry.net. He supported a number of ministries local and abroad, he had a heart for the lost and less fortunate, could fix anything and he loved hanging out with his family. He was the family peace maker and never uttered a harsh word about anyone. At the prompting of family, he has been writing an autobiography for several years. He referred to it as his "Memoirs." The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, 1:00 pm at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Mo. Interment at Shepherd Hills Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.
