He was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on March 7, 1932 to the late Jess O. and Avis (nee Evans) Yount; beloved husband of the late Romola Yount; loving father of David (Susan) Yount, Renee (Kurt) Bolliger, Doug Yount and Ken (Laura) Yount; loving grandfather of Chris (Heather) Hopkins, Nicole (Alex) Haase, Wendy (Michael) Laney, Joy (Harold) Banich, Lori (Brad) Skredenske, Stephanie Moore, Eric Bolliger, Kory (Lauren) Bolliger, Katie Bolliger, Kara Bolliger, Jessica (Kent) Gideon, Heather Henningfeld and Marissa Yount; great grandfather of Alixandria, Garrett, Jessica, Taylor, Benjamin, Jaelynne, Ellie, Jericho, Zavier, Porter, Konner, Harold III, Rebecca, Everett, Virginia, Chase, Lila, Emelia, Autumn, Kent, Kylie, Jackson and Lily; great great grandfather of Emma, Marleigh, Archer, Octavia and Luna; dear brother of Eithel Wallace, Wanda Faulkner, Jerry, John, Frank, Larry and the late Tom, Jim and Gerald Yount; dear uncle and friend to many.

Jess was a Korean War Veteran and the Missouri State Champion Horseshoes.

Visitation will be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold on Thursday July 16,2026 from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will celebrated on Friday July 17, 2026, 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery.
