Joan Catherine Thurman, 92, of Imperial, Missouri passed away January 6, 2025 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. She was born in Imperial, MO on December 14, 1932 to the late Joseph and Mildred (nee Alt) Stovesand. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Verlon 'Burr' Thurman, sons Joseph (Susie) Thurman and James Thurman, grandchildren Jeffrey Thurman and Laura (Aaron) McAntire and great grandchildren Millie McAntire and Augie McAntire.
Knowing and being married to 'Burr' almost 80 years, it was always amazing to see 2 people who not only loved each other but liked each other. Though physically separated, she is still keeping an eye on him and all her family and friends. Her infectious personality enabled her to handle anything thrown at her and turn strangers into friends within minutes. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Joan will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010. Funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.
