

Leo Max Wallis, 84, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2016 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Son of the late Gilbert and Jessie Wallis (nee Huff). Loving husband of Lois Louise Wallis (nee King)for 64 years. Beloved father of Peggy Nalls and Jeffery Wallis. Loving grandfather of Jody (Mike) Hadley, Brenda (Cody) Ward and Matt Wallis. Adoring great grandfather of Nicholas and Callan Hadley, Eric and Emma Ward and Ciera and Trayvon Wallis. Brother of the late Bob Wallis and Eva Lou (Wallis) Wilson.
Mac joined the Army on January 4, 1952 and served in Korea in the Artillery Division. He was awarded many service medals, including a Bronze Star prior to his honorable discharge on December 9, 1953. He worked as a plasterer in St. Louis City and County areas and was a member of the Plaster Union, Local 3, for sixty years. Mac was a devout Christian and member of Canaan Baptist Church in Arnold. Mac was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved deer hunting, but had a passion and skill for turkey hunting.
There will be a visitation on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Mo.
The memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
