Paul Wayne Faulkner, of Imperial, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family, at the age of 81 years. Paul Wayne was born on July 24, 1937, in Leachville, Arkansas, the son of the late George Dewey and Beatrice Faulkner. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Gholson on September 10, 1955, and they were blessed with seven children, twenty two grandchildren, and thirty two great grandchildren.
Paul began his working years as a welder, and after 15 years began hauling rock with a dump truck. That would be the beginning of what became Paul Faulkner Excavating, a family business that would continue on through his sons and several grandchildren. He would say his real work was for the Lord, sharing the gospel as a pastor of churches, a Bible teacher and mentor, serving and ministering to all who knew him.
When not at work, you could find him with his wife and family. He might be showing them the ropes of fishing, hunting, telling stories of the old days, and making new stories with children and grandchildren. When the grandchildren had activities, they could count on Grandpa to be there and he always made sure they knew he was proud of them.
All of this is possible only because of his love for Jesus. It poured out of him to everyone he knew. He was a humble man of God whose main mission and purpose in life was to point others to the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. He was the reflection of a Christ-like spirit and has touched the lives of many people. His legacy will continue to reach many others for years to come.
