He was born in St. Louis, MO on January 17,1939 to the late William Heitert and Lillian Henkenis; beloved husband of the late Katheryn Heitert; loving father of Rhonda Heitert, Daniel Heitert and Pamela (Stephen) Gray-Hemann; loving grandpa of Jamie Gray, James Gray III, Kaelyn (Dakotah) Crook and Stephen Hemann Jr.; great grandpa of Riley and Benjamin Gray and Della Crook; dear brother of Sharon and Ken, and the late Lorraine, Lil, Bill and Ellen; dear uncle and friend to many.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. His family meant everything to him. He will be remembered for loving with all his heart and his hands. He was a lifetime contributor to St. Jude Children's Research.
A visitation for Robert will be Monday, August 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010. Celebration of life service will be starting at 6:00 PM in the funeral home Chapel with visitation continuing after the service to 8:00 pm. Interment will be private.
