home on October 16, 2026. She was born on July 30, 1940, in
Jackson, Missouri. The youngest daughter of Ruby and Clark Hovis,
Sharon, had 7 brothers and sisters. A marriage to her first husband
gave her three children, Sherri, Sandra, and Edward, Jr. She was
then married to the love of her life, John A. Evenstad until his death
in 1999.
Sharon resided in several places in her life most recently in
DeSoto, Missouri.
She was active in the Shriners Organization, Alzheimer's
Organization, and Eastern Star.
She had three children, Sherri Connell of DeSoto, Missouri, Sandra
Bast (Dave) of. St. James, Missouri, and Edward Connell Jr. (Amy) of St. Peters, Missouri. She was also blessed with 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was an incredible mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all
who were lucky enough to know her. Her unconditional love,
strength of spirit, and generosity are important reasons why she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010, US, on October 28, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with services to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be the next day at Jeffersson Barracks National Cemetery.
A committal service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125, US, on October 29, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:15 am. Memorial donations in Sharon's Honor may be made to a charity of ones choice
