Wanda Jane Jokerst

JOKERST Wanda Jane (nee Fitzenreider) 63 of Imperial passed away on February 6, 2016. Wanda is the loving wife of 41 years Jerry Jokerst. She is the loving daughter of the late Edward and the late Ada Fitzenreider (nee Russell). Wanda is beloved mother of Natalie (Aaron) Mednik and Russell (Amanda) Jokerst and loving grandmother of Madelyn and Mackenzie Mednik. She is the dear sister of Rozlind (Glyn) Richards and Jean (Don) Hill. Wanda is the sister-in-law of Janice (the late JR) Burnett, James (Cheryl) Jokerst, Judy Bennett, John (Joyce) Jokerst and Jean (Linn) Gambill. She is a dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Wanda had many different roles during her life. She was beautician. She was a realtor. At one point she went back to school and got an Associate Degree in criminology after which she worked at the Jefferson County Juvenile Center. Later she became a loss prevention officer for JC Penny in South County. Her happiest roles were wife, mom, and doting grandmother. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for 35 years and was a devout Christian. She was hard headed at times and wasn’t comfortable being taken care of which has been hard on her while she was sick. She was the one who was supposed to take care of others in her mind. She is now at peace.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Heiligtag Lang Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in St. John Lutheran Church, 3517 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, MO 63010. There will also be a visitation at church from 10-11 am the morning of the service. Interment will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. In memory of Wanda contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association 425 S Woods Mill Rd, Town and Country, MO 63017.
