John Phillip Baney

Born on July 16, 1941, in Fayette County Ohio, John was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Haller) Baney. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from July 1959 until July 1962.

Following his military service, John worked as a machinist for Rolls-Royce, where he was known for his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic throughout his career.

On March 4, 1962, John married the love of his life, Linda Saunders. Together they shared many years of marriage, raising a family and creating a home filled with love and lasting memories.

John was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Perrysville. He found joy in many hobbies and interests, computers, reading, talking on the phone with family and friends, traveling, spending time outdoors, camping, and researching genealogy. He especially enjoyed learning about family history and sharing stories with those he loved.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Linda Baney; his daughters, Natalie (Darrel) Barnes of Ashland and Barbara Koch of Chillicothe; his grandsons, Benjamin Koch of Kansas City, and Daniel Koch of Illinois; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Baney and sisters Virginia (Robert) Totman, Sharon Kunninger.

In accordance with John’s wishes there will be no services.
