Bob was a farmer all his life and a dedicated Montadale sheep breeder for 45 years. Over the years, he also worked a variety of other jobs, including Glenn Roofing, Garbers, and Hess & Clark, and later founded Robert Glenn Roofing—his first job being to put a roof on for a lady from his church. In 1983, he began working as a mechanic at Crestview Bus Garage, where he worked his way up to become Bus Supervisor before retiring in 2003.
Bob often shared fond memories of helping Donald Kochenderfer place the Adario boulder and being the one who suggested painting “Adario” on it—a small but lasting mark of his pride in his community.
A man of deep and steady faith, Bob was a lifelong member of his church, where he taught a Sunday School class of young married couples, served as an elder for 40 years, and served as church moderator. His favorite Bible verse was John 10:27–28, reflecting his belief in God’s promise of eternal life.
Bob was active in many organizations throughout his life, including the Farmer’s Institute Plays, Farm Bureau, Gideons International, and the Montadale Sheep Association. He also sang with the Barbershop group, the Fun Center Chordsmen during Christmas specials at Malabar Farm. A highlight of his spiritual journey was singing in the choir at the Billy Graham Crusade in Cleveland.
He was a 1957 graduate of Savannah High School, where he served as a class officer and remained active on the alumni planning committee.
In addition to farming and faith, Bob loved car shows and enjoyed restoring classic cars—most notably his prized 1931 Model A.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marilyn (Dittman) Glenn; daughters Kim (Mark) Willey, Karen (Ross) Farr, Connie (John) Brown, and Carmen (Frank) Walthour; grandchildren Catherine (Sergio) Shaw-Fernandez, Heather (Caleb) Belew, Reanna (Robert) Marth, Amanda (Austin) Hitchens, Jessica (Justin) Aldridge, Caleb (Mary) Willey, Carissa Willey, Casey Walthour (fiance, Austin Miller), and Jaret Walthour; great-grandchildren Teo and Eliot Fernandez, Eva, Addi, Rhett, and Reid Aldridge, Benjamin and William Willey, Opal Marth, and Everly Hitchens; brother Ted (Janice) Glenn; sister Kathy (Bill Scott) DeLozier; sister-in-law Carolyn Glenn; and brother-in-law Clark Sprague.
