Steve’s life was marked by a love for family, friends, and the outdoors. He found great joy in fishing, particularly with his father and friends. Many fond memories were made as they fished the waters of Lake Erie for Perch and Walleye, and Lake Ontario in Canada for Salmon. In addition to his love for fishing, Steve was an avid bowler and golfer, often spending his leisure time competing with friends and family.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary (Sacco) Chorpening; his children, Steve (Sylvia) Chorpening, Tina (Robert) Dinga, Vince (Jen) Bugara, Josh Chorpening, and Blake (Chrystal) Chorpening; and his nine cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Chorpening, and his parents, Paul and Betty Chorpening.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Mark Petras.
