William W. Dignin, Jr., 77, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. Born on May 22, 1947, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Bill was the son of William W. Dignin, Sr. and Velma B. (Heath) Dignin.
Bill graduated from Mapleton High School in 1965 before attending Ashland University. After completing his education, he spent 32 years with Timken Company, retiring as a supervisor. Following his retirement, Bill continued to stay active in the workforce, working with Ashland Precision after they acquired the Timken plant.
On March 2, 1974, Bill married the love of his life, Alicia L. Dignin, and together they celebrated 50 years of love, partnership, and devotion. In addition to his career, Bill had a deep passion for rescuing senior dogs, a cause close to his heart that brought him much joy. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love for family, compassion for animals, and dedication to his work will live on in those who knew him best.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Alicia; his son, Robert (Jackie) Dignin of South Carolina; his siblings, Karen (Jeff) Bowersock of Nova, Pam (Nick) Petroff of New London, Tom (Mary) Dignin of Ashland, and Charleen Johnson of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill’s kindness, generosity, and quiet strength touched all who knew him. In honor of his wishes, there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or No Pawz Left Behind.
