He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria McDaniel and his sister, Evelyn Winston.
He was educated in the Hanover Public School System. He was baptized at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Doswell, Virginia, where he faithfully attended until his health started to fail.
Alvin leaves behind his daughter, Myrna McDaniel; nephew, Dennis Winston; nieces, Robinette Poole and Jeanette Mallory; and a host of family and friends, including one devoted friend, Walter Coleman.
He was a devoted member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Doswell, Virginia, and a dedicated employee of T. Frank Flippo Lumber Company, as well as a retired truck driver.
Relatives and friends are invited to Alvin's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA on Monday, October 6th, from 1:30 PM until the time of his Life Celebration Service
at 2:00 PM.
Interment will be Private.
