Jack worked hard, played hard, laughed a lot and brought strength to his family and friends simply by being himself. He was generous and kind-hearted but if you crossed him you would get a good “covering”. He was a legend whose shoes will be impossible to fill. Jack was blessed with a wonderful life and his family is grateful to have been loved by such an amazing person. His was a life well lived and the world will be a less interesting place without him and he will be greatly missed. Through the years, many people helped Jack along the way to success, especially, Ferrell Luck, S.D Quarles, and John “Dick” Gilman, Mr. England, First and Merchants Bank. He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Garrett Stanley; his son, Calvin Lee Stanley (Ginger); his daughters, Regina Stanley Holman (Bill), Betty Stanley Jones (Don) and Dyan Stanley.
