Arlene Chenault Barlow, age 80, of Ruther Glen, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. Arlene was born at her home in Point Eastern, VA on March 8, 1942 to the late Christie Lee and Ruby Chenault.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lee and Percy Chenault; and sisters, Demple Barlow and June Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Francis Barlow Jr.; daughters, Crystal Rozell (Maxie) and Frances Satterwhite (Wes); sons, Keith Barlow (Catherine) and Kevin Barlow (Sherry); adopted son, Lalo; grandchildren, Loren Rozell, Blake Rozell (Monica), Trent Satterwhite (Megan), Caitlynn Satterwhite (Tucker), Morgan Rudd, Devin Barlow (Abbie), Jonathan Barlow, Claire Barlow, Allyson Stanley (Kyle), Abbey Wickham, McKayla Barlow (Nick), and Kollin Barlow (Liz); great-grandchildren, Tinsley and Chesney Pickett, Emery and Cassidy Rozell, Casen Satterwhite, and Briar and Sutton Stanley; sisters, Evelyn Loftis and Delores Golden (Jimmy); and many nieces and nephews.
Arlene was a dedicated christian who grew up in Mount Vernon Methodist Church and later became a member of Concord Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, VA. In the church she was in the choir, a member of the social committee, and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Frog Level Fire Department Auxiliary; she was an active softball player until the age of 61, enjoyed spending time at the beach, and taking care of her flowers and vegetable garden. Arlene loved her annual trips to the Amish Country with her family. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her infectious laughter.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. and again from 10am to 11am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Concord Baptist Church, 15625 Concord Rd., Ruther Glen, VA where a funeral service will be held at 11am with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
