She was preceded in death by her parents, Erma Sharpe Henley and Lewis L. Henley and by her favorite grand-dog, Abby Davis.
She is survived by her adoring husband of nearly 57 years, Quincy C. (Tuck) Davis, her two devoted children, Catherine Dawn Davis (Andrew) Baker and Michael Wingfield (Corey) Davis and her brother, Lewis L. (Carolyn) Henley, Jr. She was a joyful and delighted Grannie to her four grandchildren, Mary Katherine Penland, William Andrew Penland, Lewis Byron Davis and Evangeline Rose Davis, who miss her dearly.
Arlene loved life and all it had to offer. She was born and raised in Hanover County, Virginia, growing up with many cousins and friends, including her husband, with whom she graduated from Henry Clay High School. She also attended Radford University. Arlene spent 21 years working with the University of Richmond, most of that time in the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business where she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed every moment with the staff, faculty and students.
She remains a vibrant soul who, in life, loved music, travel, great meals and gathering as often as possible with friends and family. Trips to the South of France, Montreal, Canada and numerous visits to Beaufort, SC are much loved memories. Her joy of life will live on in those who love her.
