PROFFITT, Betha G, 79, of Ashland, passed away June 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Bonnie Shaffer and April Farmer; and eight siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Lloyd (Timothy) and Carol Proffitt; three grandchildren, Olivia, Joseph and Bonnie; six great-grandsons, six siblings, many nieces and nephews; loving caretaker, Saadata Yusiff; and playmate, Dale Williams. A memorial gathering will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005 on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
