Carmen Oden Courtney

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, and her brother, Eddie Oden. She is survived by her devoted son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Renee and cherished grandchildren, Dana and Bryce. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Oden, and sisters-in-law, nephews and other extended family members.

Mrs. Courtney was a faithful, active member of Calvary Christian Church, Grace Christian Church, and New Found Church of Christ, where she was committed to the music and mission programs. She was active in a number of clubs and organizations and did volunteer work at the Executive Mansion, Habitat for Humanity and Hanover Visitors Center. For 17 years, she was employed by the Seaboard Coastline Railroad.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Courtney's visitation at Grace Christian Church, 8067 Atlee Rd., Mechanicsville, VA, on Saturday, August 2nd, from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Calvary Christian Church Cemetery, Glen Allen, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace Christian Church building fund.
