

Carol Curtis Mills passed away peacefully at her home in Ashland, Virginia, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in 1948 to the late Lester and Ola Mae Curtis and was raised in Amelia, Virginia.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Barbara Curtis.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Roland Mills of Ashland, Virginia; her brother, Robert Curtis of Amelia, Virginia; her nephew, Brandon Curtis of Clarksville, Virginia; and her nieces, Danielle Long and her husband, Harry, of Crew, Virginia, Shannon Overbey and her husband, Richard, of Amelia, Virginia, and Lindsay Costa and her husband, Joaquin, of Amelia, Virginia.
She also leaves behind her cherished great-nephews, Jack and John Costa, Aiden Long, Isaiah Overbey, and Micah Overbey; and her treasured great-nieces, Isabella Long, Victoria Long, Amelia Costa, and Makayla Overbey.
Carol was a loving homemaker and found joy in caring for others as a babysitter, volunteer, and active member of Forest Grove United Methodist Church. She had a special love for gardening and took pride in creating beauty and warmth in her home and community. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and dedication to family and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Carol's Visitation at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., Ashland, VA, 23005, on Tuesday, April 14 from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Forest Grove United Methodist Church.
