I’ve known Cathy Cabe all my life, and will always treasure the memories of stopping for Big League Chewing Gun before heading the the Beaverdam ballpark in the summer. Cathy always treated us like family more than neighbors or customers. She and Vernon have been a pillar in the Beaverdam community for generations, and their legacy will live on in their generous family.

I met Cathy when I was a little girl, my parents always took us to Goodway after church for candy. Cathy was always so patient and loving. When my kids were little, I was teaching them how to count out money. They would count it out and put it in Cathy's hand. She would help them count and correct them if they were wrong and show them the correct amount. The cute part about it was she would ring their candy separate so they each could have several turns....she didnt care that there was a line of people at the register. She would patiently and lovingly help them through it. She was so sweet. Truly an angel. I am praying for her entire family during this difficult time. This angel earned her wings but will be missed. Love you Cathy.

I have known Cathy 39 years, coming to Goodway store, for a Goodway bargain! I I got the nickel candy of course! Became best friends with her children, Greg and Jonathan and Adam was still a baby. Went a many Gocart races with Vernon and the boys. That was a ton of fun! I remember Cathy strumming her guitar, when she was home and sometimes in the store, I loved to hear her sing and play. She always had good advice for the growing teen. Had a passionate political view and a huge golden heart that will never be forgotten, She will always be missed. Her kind and generous heart grows deeper within the awesome family she left behind. Alex will be so happy to see her! Our community icon, you were a blessing to many.
