

Charles Franklin "Buck" Bruce, age 92, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gladys Winifred Taylor Bruce; his mother, Mamie Louise Pitts Bruce; and his father, Charles Franklin Bruce.
Buck proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work as a fleet superintendent for Wonder Bread and Hostess, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and leadership.
He is survived by his loving children, Taylor Scott Bruce and his wife, Debra, and Sandra Bruce Simmons and her husband, Spencer. He was a devoted grandfather to Kateland Melissa Bruce Leuci and her husband, Jack, Jacob Scott Bruce and his wife, Logan-Ann, and Luke Lee Bruce; great-grandfather of Hayden Marshall Bruce, Reagan Marie Bruce, and Nolan Silas Leuci. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Ruby Ann Bruce Burrows Midgett.
Buck will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved children and animals. The family is thankful for all the prayers, support, and God's grace during this time of tremendous sorrow.
Relatives and friends are invited to Buck's visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home-Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA, on Wednesday, February 25th, from 5-7 PM. A graveside service will be held at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, VA, on Thursday, February 26th at 2 PM.
