

Charles “Graham” Carter, 28, passed away in the early morning of April 18 and is now at peace with God. He leaves behind his loving parents, Michael and Alison Carter; a brother, Zachary Lawrence Carter; and his grandmothers, Betty M. Carter and Marilynn B. Gould. Other relatives include his uncles, Thomas P. Carter, L. Brand Gould, and Andrew L. Hogg; and aunts, Connie Carter, Kelli Louise Gould, Meredith Wanner Gould, and Mary Lee Hogg. Graham was predeceased by a sister, Rachel DeLong Carter and two grandfathers, Thomas P. Carter, Jr. and K. Lawrence Gould. Graham attended Hampden-Sydney College and Randolph-Macon College and was employed by Trinity Turf in Richmond. Good natured, quick-witted, gregarious, and sometimes outspoken, Graham pursued many interests including whitewater kayaking, the music of The Grateful Dead and Phish, soccer, the study of economics, and conservative political thought. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24 at First Baptist Church, 800 Thompson Street, Ashland, VA.
