Clifton H. "Buddy" Neal

NEAL, Clifton H. “Buddy”, 76, of Ashland, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. Clifton “Buddy” Neal was eternally freed of the physical challenges of this world on August 18, 2016. His precious character traits of perseverance and humility were developed as a child, growing up and working on a family dairy farm in Bluefield, Virginia, and continued to be evident throughout his life. His example of what it meant to be a husband, father, and friend are cherished by all who knew him. Buddy was a retired Credit Manager with Richmond Newspapers. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. He was also a lifetime Lions Club Member. Buddy was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude H. Neal and his father, Frank E. Neal. He is survived by his wife, Carole A. Neal; son, Michael E. Neal; daughter, Karen D. Williams; grandchildren, Carter M. Neal and Clayton R. Neal; and sister, Virginia Sarver. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A service will be held at 11am on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Beaverdam Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Flummer-Harvey Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
