LANNING, Eloise (Ellie), 83, of Goochland, VA, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Jake) Lanning and her infant son, James Booth. She leaves to cherish in her memory a sister, Wanda Hunter; six children, Andy Booth, Eddie Booth (Carolyn), John Booth (Janet Williams), George Booth, Terry Booth (Kandy), Sherrie Manns (Darren); along with many loving and caring grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ellie retired from Verizon after 34 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, crocheting, and her dogs. Throughout her life she was a devoted mother and friend to many. She will be missed by all. Those who wish may contribute to a charity or church of their choice. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 where a service will take place at 2pm. Interment will be at Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover, VA.
