STANLEY, Elsa Miers, 97, of Beaverdam, passed away on March 27, 2017. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Mills (James); two granddaughters, Angela Nixon (Steve) and Stephanie Swart (Ignatius); as well as three great-grandchildren, Chase and McKenzie Buchanan and Annaliese Swart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Buster” Stanley; her mother, Virginia Lillard; stepfather, Orrie Lillard; and brother, Edgar Miers. Elsa and her husband operated Stanley’s Garage in Beaverdam for many years. She graduated from Beaverdam High School and went on to business college. Elsa was an active member of Zion Christian Church for many years. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Zion Christian Church, 16158 Beaverdam School Rd., Beverdam, VA 23015, where services will follow at 2pm. Interment will be at Fork Episcopal Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Christian Church.
