He was preceded by his parents, Florentino and Olga, and his brother, Jay.
He was known to all by his nickname “Papo”. A native of Havana, Cuba, Papo and his family immigrated to the United States in 1962. A church sponsorship welcomed him and his family to Ashland where they settled. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School. A man of many talents, he was a master craftsman and spent the majority of his career running his Upholstery business. He was a great dad and grandfather and had an incredible sense of humor and was the most selfless person we knew.
He leaves behind a son, Bill (Cathy); and two daughters, Esther (Mike) and Elizabeth (Craig). He had six grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, Will, Ryan, Tyler and Mason; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Camryn.
A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
Papo was very fond of dogs and contributed much of his time and worked with the SPCA over the years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Richmond SPCA.
