Frances Loving Hale, 93, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was preceded in death by her son, Bucky Hale; and siblings, Monroe Loving, Vernon Loving, Joyce Stanley, Annie Williamson, and Margaret Wingfield. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, Berkley E. Hale; daughters, Teresa Manahan (Harold) and Betty Sue Martin (Roger); grandchildren, Justin (Kristine) and Meredith (Chad); great grandchildren, Caleb, Noah, Luke, Chloe, and Ella Frances; siblings, H.T. Loving, Alvin Loving, Doris Tignor, and Barbara Jean Goodman; as well as several nieces and nephews. Frances loved knitting, reading, and making quilts. She was an active member of Slash Christian Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Slash Christian Church, 11353 Mt. Hermon Rd., Ashland, Va. 23005. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Slash Christian Church.
