Born in Kentucky, Gale spent most of her life in Virginia, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Gale was preceded in death by her husband, John Reed, and her parents, Kelso and Angie Gibson.
She is survived by her son, Mike Reed (Julie); grandson, Andy Reed; and sister, Susan Ousley.
Gale was a woman of many passions. She loved to travel, with cruises being a favorite way to explore the world. Shopping trips, quiet afternoons with a good book, and time spent in the kitchen cooking for loved ones brought her great joy. Above all, Gale adored her family, her children, and the animals that brightened her life.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, VA 23069.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gale's memory to the American Cancer Society.
